It spans 1,200 square kilometers in north-eastern Rwanda, close to the Tanzanian border. The forest supports over 1025 plant species, and 500 species of orchid and giant lobelia. Nyungwe also has 13 species of primates; these include chimpanzees and the Black and White Angolan colobus monkeys. It is also home to habituated species such as the Mangabeys and the Blue Monkeys. Nyungwe forest has its own Canopy. And it’s the only canopy in East Africa.
